| Job description |
Your role is to develop intuitive interfaces for browsers of all shapes and sizes (web and mobile web platforms). You have broad technology expertise, including PHP and XHTML programming and can lead a team of interface developers or grow with a team to quickly become a lead developer. You have some experience with object-oriented PHP5 and have a strong grasp of the Model-View-Controller design principles to application development. You’re an expert with CSS and can render XHTML compliant interfaces that scale very well. Most importantly, you have a great attitute, a willingness to embrace challenges and you're not afraid of tight project schedules that may require flexible hours to meet plans and goals. |
| Day-to-day |
- Translate functional requirements and specifications into accurate technical requirements and be able to anticipate future requirements
- Collaborate with PHP application developers to ensure interfaces balance usability and application performance
- Incorporate PHP functions into your programming to connect with back end systems and databases
- Use AJAX and JavaScript when deemed appropriate to streamline user interfaces, but rely on XHTML and CSS for the lowest common denominator, especially for micro-browsers (i.e. a mobile phone)
- Be flexible to work with external social network API’s such as Facebook and MySpace
- Use tools and procedures and suggest tools and help define procedures for Interface testing and W3 compliance
- Have fun while you work

| Qualifications |
You're a bright, self-starter with broad technology skills and a keen desire to learn, grow and embrace challenges. Specifically, you possess the following:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent
- Expert CSS skills and experience optimizing for different browsers with some knowledge on how to optimize for micro-browsers (i.e. Mobile Phones)
- Familiarity with PHP5 and a strong grasp of Model-View-Controller design principles
- Basic experience working with databases such as MySQL or Postgres, or connecting to these databases
- Intermediate Javascript skills, including AJAX and DHTML
- Experience with Apache
- Some Unix system administration skills. (Should be comfortable on the command line)
- A good sense of interface design principles and usability
- Demonstrated high energy, strong work ethic and sense of urgency. You're proactive and able to work independently and under pressure. You have an entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience working, on or spending your off time on a web2.0 or social networking tool is desired

- Collaborate with PHP application developers to build highly scalable applications that put performance first
- Design and devlop application models, database models and have the ability to translate vision into reality
- Develop PHP functions and connect with back end systems and databases that you help architect and design
- Be flexible to work with external social network API’s such as Facebook and MySpace
- Use tools and procedures and suggest tools and help define procedures for application testing, load blancing, redundancy

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent
- Expert object oriented programming skills and experience working on massively scalable platforms to support simulaneous usage and requests
- Expert with PHP5 and a strong grasp of Model-View-Controller design principles
- A depth of experience working with databases such as MySQL or Postgres, or connecting to these databases
- Basic Javascript skills, including AJAX and DHTML
- Solid experience with Apache
- Unix skills. (Should be comfortable on the command line)
- A good sense of applicataion design principles and performance tuning and optimization procedures
- Demonstrated high energy, strong work ethic and sense of urgency. You're proactive and able to work independently and under pressure. You have an entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience working, on or spending your off time on a web2.0 or social networking tool is desired
